Let’s open up the “black box” and get our hands a little messy. In this session, educators will build a simple model using Teachable Machine, discovering how AI systems learn through data, patterns, and iteration. Along the way, we’ll surface the quirks, surprises, and limitations that shape these tools, connecting playful experimentation to deeper AI literacy frameworks. Expect moments of curiosity, a few “wait…what?” realizations, and a clearer sense of how these systems actually work beneath the surface.

This session will ariticulate our approach to priortizing our Profile of a North Salem Graduate with a focus on critical thinking and how AI may or may not be used to support teaching and learning via differention and universal design for learning.  We will model how we use our teacher resource toolkit to achieve our instructional goals.
